Given the current scenario of environmental crisis, one of the most challenging issues is solid waste, and among these, those with the largest volume come from the construction industry. This work presents a study about the socioenvironmental perception of residents about the solid waste issue in a neighborhood in expansion process in the city of Sobral, state of Ceará, Brazil. This study was carried out through the application of a questionnaire in order to measure the population awareness of the problem. The study indicates that the neighborhood and the builders lack environmental education programs as well as a more efficient inspection.Downloads
