Abstract

This article presents results of the environmental analysis carried out in two stages. The first one was the survey of space information of the carboniferous region, more precisely of the Jacuí river that passes through the municipality of Charqueadas, in Rio Grande do Sul State (Brazil). The objective was to evaluate the environmental impacts from the occupation of preservation areas both by dwellings and for the implantation of the industrial complex. As a methodology, we use geoprocessing techniques to collect data through the Spring and Terra View programs, which help in the production of spatial information. In the second stage, we performed the identification of the necessary variables for the planning of a web system to answer the needs of the residents located in a risk area. There was an approach with the community from visitation and interviews to verify which elements could compose the system to really attend its users.
