The activated biochar is an adsorbent that can be used to remove pollutants in aqueous media through the adsorption technique. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the interference of the encapsulation with sodium alginate of activated biochar produced from banana peel for phosphorus removal in aqueous media, through point of zero charge tests, influence of mass and pH on adsorption, adsorption kinetics and adsorptions Isotherms. Through the analyses, it was possible to observe that the performance, both of powdered and encapsulated biochar, applied through the adsorption technique, was satisfactory for the removal of phosphorus, and it can be applied to the effluents treatments, both domestic and industrial.Downloads
