Abstract

This paper presents an approach of a specific typology of architecture, called industrial, and analyzes how to clean its production by applying optimization tools for the use of natural resources, especially water. This study is a parallel implementation of a conceptual architecture project to designing a hand tool industry in the municipality of São João da Barra, located in the northern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, aiming to analyze the industrial architecture as well as serving as a reference to the architectural choices that will direct the industries that will be installed in the port complex of Açu and the industrial district of São João da Barra (DISJB). A series of features was developed and employed to allow the best use of natural ventilation and lighting, mainly a water capture and reuse technology, since this resource is widely used in industrial processes, especially in the metallurgical industry.
