Abstract

The formation of urban areas has been a fact in our society since antiquity. This agglomeration process associated to the depletion of some resources demands planning and management of natural resources. Thus, the aim of this review is to provide an overview of the vision and government actions in the capital Teresina-PI, regarding planning and effective implementation of solid waste management actions provided by Law No. 12.305/2010 or National Policy on Solid Waste (NPSW).
