The study of matrices in High School often focus on the algebraic treatment. The goal of the short course is to seek a new approach for this study associating it with geometric transformations. It is intended to bring the student to the concepts of reflection and rotation, which is not done so much at that stage of Basic Education and which, in this case, bring dynamism and geometric meaning to the matrices. Furthermore, some applications are shown in Computer Graphics, showing the use of arrays in this area. The paper is aimed at High School students and is structured in three parts: reflection, rotation, and applications. It uses slides and animations in power point in order to facilitate the visualization of these transformations.
