Abstract

This short course aims to propose, reflect, develop and discuss alternatives for teaching practice in relation to the preparation, operation and troubleshooting of Statistics, related to measures of central tendency in order to favor the appropriation of meanings of arithmetic with students from Basic Education. The encouragement of activities that allow students and teachers to be aware of the complexity of statistical concepts should be done, including those considered “elementary” as is the case with measures of central tendency, of which the meaning must be build progressively. We propose to allow situations to develop a structured statistical thinking. Initially we present simple situations, exploiting different meanings and representations related to arithmetic, for example.
