Abstract
The objective of this paper is to reveal statistically solid empirical evidence shown by the p-value, which is the highest level of significance to reject the hypothesis that the variable Education is amongst the variables most frequently cited in the literature, that which has high explanatory power for a poor guy in Brazil to exceed the poverty line, completing a transition in his income. The study uses as primary source data, the PNAD - National Household Sample Survey - conducted annually by the IBGE (except in census years) for its nationwide coverage and because it provides the most complete and thorough investigation of the characteristics of the population. This study also seeks to raise interest in the content Logistic regressions between professionals in mathematics education and undergraduates.
