Filmmaker’s craft: the possibility of an homer’s journey

Abstract

From the analysis of the production strategy used in the documentary O Prisioneiro da Grade de Ferro (autorretratos) of Paulo Sacramento, and establishing a comparison with the Homer's Odyssey masterpiece (specifically the part that relates the encounter of Odysseus with the titan Polyphemus), this essay aims to the idea of a filmmaker as a desconstructor of myths and an historical narratives creator, thus enabling the writing of memoirs and the perpetuation of idea of authorship
