The Geometria of Origami
Keywords:
Learning of mathematics, Geometry and OrigamiAbstract
Abstract The objective of this work is to show that, even though Mathematics is a discipline that involves calculations and formulas, it can and should be a pleasant and interesting educational experience. For this reason, the Geometry of Origami should be taught in Primary Education as a resource of inquiry and problem solution in the teaching and learning of Mathematics. The idea is to stimulate students to try, reflect, and reach their own conclusions by using origami folds. These activities have been developed in the academic discipline Games and Mathematical Education, given by Prof. Daniel Portinha Alves, Coordinator of the Post-Graduation Course in Mathematics Education at the Universidade Estácio de Sá, campus Centro I (RJ).Downloads
