Sections of the prism: discovery with the aid of digital technologies

Abstract

Geometry can be considered as a tool to understand, describe, and interact with the space in which we live. Thus, this mini-course aims to contribute to the learning of Geometry in a visual approach. Because it requires great visualization ability, the topic of the course is flat sections of prisms. Activities proposed in the course will be done with the help of learning resources (concrete material, applets and websites). These will aid the visualization and construction of mathematical knowledge of the topic above mentioned. In this extended abstract, we highlight the importance of geometry and digital technologies, and describe the activities to be conducted in the seminar.
