Abstract

Certainly Geography is one of the sciences that contribute to explain the world in which we live. Within its diverse ramifications Geography has researches that have not yet been fully appropriated by society; among these branches is geomorphology. If we want a quality environmental education, that really makes the human being understand that it is part of the whole environment is fundamental knowledge of the territory in its entirety. This means knowing the dynamics of external and internal origins that together are constantly reshaping the landscape. This article intends to show how the geomorphology can be used for a local environmental education, being part of the teaching in the several areas of knowledge that uses the environment as a main theme or transversal for children and young people.
