The lack of adequate urban planning combined with the population density and the poor infrastructure are factors that aggravate the quality of life in the city. This article analyzes and discusses about an important urban element that is often suppressed, but that guarantees the pedestrian basic right to come and go: the sidewalks. From theoretical studies and in loco observation, laws and conflicts and more joint ventures will be presented, highlighting the need to encourage management plans about sidewalks and the elements inserted in them, contributing to the improvement of urban life.Downloads
