Abstract

The objective this paper is to relate our experiences into the extension Project "Recreating to Rehabilitate: recreational activities for the school reintegration of people with mental disorders at the Henrique Diniz State School in the existing unit at the Psychiatric and Judicial Hospital Jorge Vaz". In this project we offer a variety recreational activities aimed at providing opportunities for the school reintegration of people with mental disorders. The project participants are patients from the Jorge Vaz Psychiatric and Judiciary Hospital in the city of Barbacena/MG. Through recreational activities we want to improve the physical, motor, cognitive and socio-affective development these people. Although the project is in action recently, through recreational activities developed from the elements of body culture of movement respecting the intellectual capabilities of each individual is notorious the progress of participants in the expansion and development of physical, motor and cognitive conditions.
