Benefits of Neuropsychological Rehabilitation of college students: a case study

The present paper aimed to apply a neuropsychological rehabilitation plan focusing on the cognitive skills of university students who did not have previous psychopathological conditions. The research took place in four stages: 1) Application of an anamnesis interview; 2) Conducting a neuropsychological assessment using the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, Rey Complex Figure Test, Psychological Battery for Attention Assessment, Barkley Deficits in Executive Functioning Scale, which provided important cognitive and behavioral profile data for; 3) Elaboration and application of an individualized rehabilitation plan with weekly sessions; and 4) Neuropsychological assessment after applying the rehabilitation plan. The data was assessed by the Jacobson and Truax Method to estimate the clinical significance of the intervention. The results have pointed reliable positive changes in executive and attentional processes, as well as the satisfaction of participants with the activities that were developed. The importance of neuropsychological interventions that consider the benefits that can be achieved in its use with healthy people has been discussed.Downloads
