Childhood, youth and public policies: developing dialogical actions

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the actions developed within the scope of the extension project “Childhood, Youth and Public Policies” and on the elements that culminated in its development, considering the context of social policies developed in the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes -RJ. Even though the policy for assisting children and adolescents presupposes the interface with different social policies, we emphasize the Social Assistance Policy, the focus of the extension action of our project. We present and analyze the activities carried out with the institutional care services for children and adolescents, as well as those for the training of professionals working in the assistance of children and young people. We conclude that the activities performed have an important role in fostering reflection of the issue and in proposing possibilities for intervention with / for children and adolescents, both for professionals and for the management of services.
