Abstract

Reading and writing occupy a decisive place in the society in which we live: we are inserted in literate culture, which imposes on us the need to pursue a pedagogy that inserts students into the universe of reading and writing, ensuring the essential right of everyone to have access to cultural goods, including literature. Thus, this work presents the Literature-se project, developed at the Instituto Federal Fluminense campus Itaperuna, in 2020 and 2021. The objective was to work from the perspective of literary in literature, proposing to the school community to carry out various actions of literary intervention, in partnership with the Academia de Letras do IFF Campus Itaperuna, so it sought to democratize reading. Results positively point to the formation of a circle of reflective readers and writers committed to the socio-historical reality in which they live. Methodologically, the project was anchored in research and authors who seek to apply the concept of literacy in the teaching of literature, in addition to those who defend the importance of the act of reading. Thus, Barbosa (2011), Candido (2009), Cosson (2018) and Freire (1989), among others, offer theoretical support to our arguments.
