Abstract

In this assay we propose to study the phenomenon of the presupposition, on two different points of view: the linguistic one and the pragmatic one. We are in accordance to Ducrot to deal with the study of presupposition as a linguistic factor; well he is concerned with what is inscribed in the language, not about ideologies that goes around it, because he prioritizes the linguistic context (not the pragmatic one).As a basis to the study of the presupposition as a pragmatic factor we are in accordance to Austin, who, on the other hand, considers the presupposition as a condition to the employment of the enunciation, he transfers the analysis of a sentence and its parts to the conditions of the use of the sentence.
