Environmental problems in the municipality of São João da Barra, as well as across the planet, have led mankind to rethink their actions and the way of life. We believe that the educational field has an important role and can contribute to changing this situation. This study aimed to sensitize the students of the second segment the municipal school Luiz Gomes da Silva Neto, located on the 5th district of São João da Barra, on environmental issues in order to contribute to the conservation of regional ecosystems. The choice of the theme was given the pressing need that is believed to exist in a way to conserve the environment so that future generations will be guaranteed a quality of life. The methodology of this work presents a qualitative and quantitative nature therefore the method of qualitative research grounded in literature survey was used, and quantitative, based on sampling the number of students who responded to the questionnaire. Another method used were training, lectures and training for students, in order to demonstrate the importance of conservation of the Atlantic Forest ecosystems, to promote the training of multipliers of environmental activities in the region. After compiling and analyzing the data collected from the questionnaires can be argued that the experience of an Environmental Education Practice with the direct participation of students is essential to learning and assimilation of content worked. In this context, this work served as a mediator in the construction of environmental benchmarks that were developed centered practice conservation of regional ecosystems.Downloads
