Delimitation and morphometric analysis of the Ribeirão Santo Antônio basin in the municipality of Miracema/RJ

The use of geotechnologies for watershed delineation and morphometric characterization enables the integrated analysis of various types of data, playing a fundamental role in supporting decision-making, especially in the context of environmental planning. The compactness coefficient of 1,8378 and the form factor of 0,2918 indicate an elongated shape. The mean overland flow length of 0,0902 suggests that the watercourses are relatively short, while the drainage density of 2,7721 km/km² indicates a well-developed drainage network. The analysis of these parameters suggests that, although the basin’s shape would typically result in longer response times, the short channels and well-developed drainage network may accelerate the response to precipitation events. This study provided relevant information about the Ribeirão Santo Antônio watershed, offering data that can contribute to the improvement of water resource management in the municipality of Miracema/RJ.Downloads
