Urban environmental problems in Permanent Preservation Areas: a case study in the Eurípedes Dam – Quixadá, Ceará

There are several environmental and social problems caused by the accelerated and disorderly process of the growth of cities in Brazil and the world, and in Quixadá the situation is no different. In this way the research had as objective to analyze the relation between the socioenvironmental conditions and the disordered growth of the occupation of the neighborhood Campo Velho in the City of Quixadá, Ceará, using an exploratory and descriptive methodology. It allowed the knowledge of the socioeconomic, socioenvironmental and infrastructural conditions of the population of the neighborhood where it was identified that the disorderly urban expansion has generated several conflicts and problems in the environment and the mischaracterization of the permanent preservation area.Downloads
