This article aims to describe the experience of an extension action of extension projects of the Fluminense Federal Institute campus Campos Centro for updating elementary school teachers from public schools in Campos dos Goytacazes/RJ. Thus, a workshop on Botany was developed using multiple didactic methodologies (discussion of articles, experiment, game, didactic model and mind map). As developments, we verified that the teachers actively participated in all the proposed methodologies, always curious and motivated. Data obtained by the diagnostic evaluation questionnaire applied after the workshop indicate that the expectation of the teachers with the workshop were met being that, 76,9% said they were very satisfied with the theoretical concepts of botany addressed, while 92,3% said they were very satisfied with the contribution of the workshop to their teaching practice. We believe that the activities enhanced the updating of teacher as the workshop was a space for proposing/experiencing diverse didactic methodologies, in addition to discussion on the need for a reflective teaching practice and related to the reality of the students.Downloads
