The Campo Limpo System Environmental Education Program supports educational institutions with curricular content related to the environment, with the objective of making teachers and students of the 4th and 5th years of Elementary Education aware of shared responsibility in the sustainable management of empty packaging and solid waste, and to stimulate the protagonism of students in conscious consumption practices for the non-generation of solid waste, as well as the adequate final disposal of tailings. The methodology used is the annual distribution of environmental education kits to public and private schools. The kits comprise the teacher’s notebook, thematic posters, collaborative game. In Rio de Janeiro, in 2019, there were 12 participating schools, comprising the municipalities of Campos dos Goytacazes, Cardoso Moreira, São João da Barra and São José de Ubá. Lectures were given to build students’ environmental awareness, addressing the challenge of solid waste based on the notion of “shared responsibility”. At the end of the lecture cycle, students participated in the drawing (4th year) and writing (5th year) contest, working the theme: “How can I do my part in waste management”, where the best were awarded.Downloads
