Abstract

This essay discusses the impacts on the students' educational paths and the social transformations resulting from the insertion of Extension Programs in the practices, curriculum and pedagogical projects of Brazilian public higher education. We propose that the exercise of inseparable relationships between Education, Research and Extension in and from undergraduate courses, in a procedural link between the dimensions of Extension and Education: provide a more full, humanistic and citizen education to the students involved; contribute to the rupture of the abyssal line separating individuals, practices and knowledge; and, in the long term, help in the development of a socially just democracy.
