Resumo

The purpose of this paper is to describe a methodology for the work of the Educational Project for Youth and Adult Education (EJA) of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC). Its main motivation was the inclusion of working students in the Institution. This project is directed to groups of workers over 18 years of age who seek formal recognition of knowledge and skills acquired in the course of life and work, through processes of recognition and certification of knowledge (Certific). It also aims to reach young people and adults aged 15 years or more who have interrupted their studies for a variety of reasons and who still find it difficult to access basic education integrated with professional education (Proeja) in Institutions of excellence such as the Federal Institutes. The methodology, which seeks to integrate teaching and extension, consists of the launching of edicts to financially support the performance of active search of working students public of the EJA, for the institution. The results of this methodology have shown a promising way for the Institution to fulfill part of its mission, which is to promote inclusion and to train citizens through professional education.
