Introduction to Nom-Euclidean Geometry in primary education
Keywords:
Euclidean Geometry, Euclid's fifth postulate, Teaching and Learning of Non Euclidean GeometryAbstract
From the failed attempts to prove that the fifth postulate of Euclid was, in fact, a theorem, emerged the Non-Euclidean Geometry. With the first four postulates of Euclid, and the denial of the fifth, other geometries have evolved with postulates that are possible in plane models, and as consistent as those in Euclidean geometry. This paper presents the models and assumptions of both Elliptic and Hyperbolic Geometry. Furthermore, the article discusses the teaching of these geometries.Downloads
