Abstract

Computational models have been widely used in the generation of scenarios and decision making in environmental studies. In this paper, the behavior of environmental parameters in a highly impacted lagoon (Vigario Lagoon, Campos / RJ) was evaluated, with the aid of the MOHID system. Results obtained in the field and dispersion maps obtained with the GIS graphical user interface (GUI), allowed for a satisfactory diagnosis of the water quality of the lagoon. In the interface, the simulations of different scenarios (sanitary discharges and river outflow) in the points facilitated the calibration of the model regarding the following parameters: Dissolved Oxygen, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Total Nitrogen and Temperature in Vigario Lagoon.
