With a closer look at the play Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw, this paper proposes an analysis of the concept of authorship and participation of the reader in the processes of resignification of the work. On one hand, the author is no longer the only entity in the attempt of finding an explanation for the work as the result of the interaction of cultures and readings which makeup their development. On the other hand, the text chosen as study object of this project shows that texts involve openness to a variety of update alternatives by the reader, not being, therefore, the exclusive owner of its meanings.Downloads
