An analysis regarding coherence and textual cohesion in compositions written by Secondary Vocational Education students

This study analyzes the use of mechanisms of coherence and textual cohesion in compositions written by third-year students from the Secondary Vocational Education at the Technical Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Rondônia – IFRO – campus Ariquemes . We use the concepts of text, coherence and cohesion by Bakhtin (1992), Beaugrande and Dressler (1981), Bernardez (1982), Kock (1998, 2003), Koch and Travaglia (1997; 2004) and Marcuschi (1983; 2008). We observed that approaches to textual coherence and cohesion can become discussion mechanisms in the classroom and take students to the practice of rewriting.Downloads
