Abstract

This article describes the results of a field class activity as part of the “Regional and Sustainable Development” academic program, in the post-graduation course in Environmental Education at IF Fluminense-Campos. The class took place on the coast area between the South of Espírito Santo State and the São Francisco do Itabapoana municipality. The objective was to make the students aware of the importance of the environmental study as a pedagogical resource. The analysis provided knowledge about ecosystems, geomorphology, the use and coverage of local plants. The conclusions show the importance of field classes as a pedagogical strategy and environmental awareness.
