Abstract

This article shows the relationship of celebrities with the tragic aspects of their lives and involvement of the fans from the catharsis point of view. All these imbricate terms will dialogue with one of the eldest literary genres: the Greek tragedy. This permeates an understanding of the way that we, spectators, analyzed some famous people, as well as its influence in the entertainment industry. In this context, some of them fail to get a balance between fame and its personal life, falling before its hubris (internal imbalance). And one of these artists, considered the myth of music and entertainment, will be included in this discussion: Michael Jackson. The Greek philosopher Aristotle argued and invigorated the likelihood and importance of this literature in humans. We will see, however, that even with these conflicts, the myth remains.
