Based on a literature review, this article discusses the relationship between health and the academic environment, addressing some of the variables identified in the daily lives of two subjects: teachers and students. We wanted to explore is the presence of Burnout Syndrome among them, considering that university education tends to be seen as a moment of greater vulnerability and challenges to young people, as new and diverse tasks imposed upon them may be a source of severe stress. To this, the teaching scenario is associated, one where we can identify elements such as labor precariousness and commodification of education, capable of generating various developments, including health of teachers. This review is part of a research project started in March of 2012 at UFF/Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ, in which the relevance of the theme is recognized, since the results of studies in this field may give rise to and / or strengthen the implementation of strategies to triggering a healthier environment for teaching, research and extension, covering both faculty and studentsDownloads
