Abstract

This article brings a brief context of chronic and its potential to gain new readers. The style accepted by the newspapers is a free space for addressing different themes. It is a place of reflection and breathe away from the daily facts. The chronicler Plinio Marcos would scape daily routine and use real and fictional characters in his texts: stories that he often sought in his childhood and youth. Another point addressed in this work is the characteristics that are present in the production of other literary genres such as tale, column and article made for the Jornal da Orla between the months of January to October 1999.
