Management and School Councils: democracy as a dynamic process and in permanent movement

This paper analyzes the policy of democratic management in the public schools and its functioning regarding the social, economic, political and cultural configurations in contemporary Brazil. It indicates the confluence between the participatory / democratizing project and the process of structural adjustment. Its purpose is to share with the scientific and school communities some thoughts and conclusions about the democratization mechanisms of the public school held by School Councils in times of neoliberal adjustment. The study also identifies the advances, limits and possibilities of this trajectory that counted on the effective participation of representatives of the various sectors of the school community.Downloads
