For a Geographic Engineering: from technique in geography to a technical geography

This article proposes Geographic Engineering as an alternative to (re) inserting the Geographer into the labor market of constant and intense transformations. It correlates the attributions of the Geographer with other professional categories, evidences their low representativeness in the market and factors that limit their recognition and professional performance. In the scenario of constant and intense transformations, which prioritize technical and pragmatic technologies and professionals, the rise of engineering courses is notorious. The proposal of Geographical Engineering is not seen as a trend, but as an option to promote autonomy, overcome crises, technological training and an efficient professional performance.Downloads
