Abstract

Water is a commodity that has increasingly become scarce in both quality and quantity. This research aimed at evaluating the water quality of the River Pomba used in the collection,  use and disposal by the ornamental rock processing industry. The investigation was done by physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of the water collected in loco. Results show that the most efficient way to reduce water abstraction is reutilization through the recirculation of the liquid effluent generated in the production and collection of rainwater.
