Bakthin and mirror: an outline of alterity from the perspective of self-contemplation

The purpose of this work is to discuss some of the key concepts of the theory of Mikhail Bakhtin, using texts which refer to mirrors as a representation of the self-other relation, of the notion of dialogism, which characterizes the interaction between a human being with another and human beings with the world. The paper also discusses that the reflected image in the mirror is a social construction. The discussion is based on three texts by the writer Frei Betto: “Why I write”, “The guest” and “Egg”.Downloads
