Civil construction is one of the most significant activities for the social and economic development of the country. However, in the traditional construction process, the intense generation of demolition and construction waste (DCW) has caused negative impacts in society, due to: high volumes of generated waste, frequent clandestine and inappropriate disposals, elevated risks of environmental contamination, and difficulties in waste separation for recycling. This study aims to evaluate the public policies adopted in the city of Caraguatatuba, northern coastline of the State of São Paulo, estimating the annual volume of generated DCW, and identifying the actions and participants involved in them.Downloads
