For the development of both a simulation model and a control system, it is necessary to build, in advance, a conceptual model. This is what is usually suggested by the methodologies applied in projects of this nature. Some conceptual modeling techniques allow for a better understanding of the simulation model, and a clear descriptionof the logic of control systems. Therefore, this paper aims to present and evaluate conceptual languages for unified modeling of models of discrete event simulation and control systems applied in manufacturing. The results show that the IDEF-SIM language can be applied both in simulation systems and in process control.Downloads
