Use of a virtual learning environment as a tool to extend and support traditional classes: a case study at the Instituto Federal Fluminense

The article presents a case study of blended learning with simultaneous use of traditional classes and a virtual learning environment developed with the Moodle software. The pedagogical objective was to extend and support classroom activities in the subject “Research Methods and Techniques” in a lato sensu post-graduation course at the Instituto Federal Fluminense. The study describes how the environment was organized and used by participants, and presents an analysis of the teaching and learning approach based on a questionnaire and comments posted by the students on a discussion board.Downloads
