A study of the supply of professional and technical education (PTE) in private and state high schools in Campos dos Goytacazes – RJ

The present article aims to analyze the supply of Professional-Technical Education (PTE) courses at high school level in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes, northern Rio de Janeiro State, an area which presents a new economic scenario, due to the investments in the oil industry and in the construction of the Açu Superport Industrial Complex. Directors and coordinators were interviewed in state and private technical schools. Results indicate the necessity of expanding and diversifying existing technical courses, especially in state technical schools, which offer more traditional courses that do not consider regional market demands.Downloads
