At Home Internationalization, professors, Higher Education InstitutionsAbstract
This article explores the theme of internationalization at home, examining the profiles of professors in the Global Classes program, which offers classes in an additional language, at a university in southern Brazil. To achieve this, bibliographic and documentary research were conducted, followed by the development of a semi-structured online questionnaire, which was applied to professors in the program. Through the data collected, it was possible to assess how the program's implementation happened in the institution and to articulate that trajectory with the profile of the participant professors. It was noted that most are experienced professionals who are very interested in this area. However, plenty still do not feel secure and/or qualified to minister a class entirely in an additional language. This could be because of a lack of confidence in their linguistic and theoretical knowledge. Therefore, the importance of adopting a perspective that decentralizes the native speaker is highlighted. It is believed that it was possible to observe how the program proposed has been developed, expanding the research on internationalization in Higher Education.Downloads
