Abstract

Pastures are the basis of bovine feeding in Brazil. However, productivity levels are much lower than what could be reached with adoption of appropriate management of pasture areas. Numerous factors contribute for these results, especially the low availability of nutrients. A review of the literature shows, in the last decades, the large volume of assessments of the response of tropical gramineous forage to nitrogenous fertilization. However, when it comes to allotment taxes of Brazilian pastures, it is observed that these data, generated by research, do not reach  rural producer.
