Abstract

The vegetation of the Cerrado is composed of three formations: country, savanna and forest. Woody debris are naturally produced by forests, either by falling branches, branches or even whole trees. Cerrado fires are considered surface burned, basically consuming the herbaceous strata, with diameter less than or equal to 6 mm. This study aimed to identify, describe and analyze literature on methodologies used to quantify the fuel material. Methods for quantification of combustible material may be non-destructive and destructive. The success of the method depends on the abundance of fuel.
