Abstract

Through an evaluation of the effectiveness of the actions of the environmental military police and the main legal postulates associated with environmental protection, the present work seeks to propose a methodology to diagnose the main obstacles to the non-application of criminal, administrative or damage repair sanctions on environmental issues. By means of descriptive and exploratory methods of empirical-phenomenological foundations and secondary quantitative data collected in the archives of the Environmental Police Command of the Rio de Janeiro Military Police and the State Court of Justice, it was noticed the prevalence of the impunity of the offenders and the acceleration of the environmental degradation.

João VI; ex-comandante do Batalhão de Polícia Florestal e de Meio Ambiente e do Comando de Polícia Ambiental; pós-graduado em: Gestão Estratégica em Segurança Pública pela Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UNISUL); Auditoria e Perícia Ambiental pela Universidade Gama Filho (UGF); e Meio Ambiente pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ). Atualmente é mestrando do Programa de Pós-graduação em Engenharia Ambiental do IFFluminense.

É professora titular do IFFluminense e foi Diretora de Inovação, Pesquisa e Extensão do Campus Macaé do IFFluminense, atuando atualmente como docente permanente Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Ambiental, como Coordenadora do Programa de Pós-graduação em Engenharia Ambiental do IFFluminense.
