Internationalization in education: a reflective analysis of the Extension Project “Science at the Border”: expanding the boundaries of knowledge

This article presents a reflective analysis of the experience carried out within the extension project “Science at the Border” (Soja et al., 2023), aiming to discuss its contributions to the promotion of interdisciplinary practices and the strengthening of internationalization in education. The research adopts a qualitative approach in order to identify the structural elements of the project's pedagogical proposal that highlight its formative potential. The developed reflection demonstrates that extension project initiatives grounded in interdisciplinarity not only foster the integration of teaching, research, and outreach, but also expand the possibilities for the internationalization of education by promoting dialogue among different cultures, forms of knowledge, and territories. In this sense, the relevance of university extension is reinforced as a tool for social transformation and civic education.Downloads
