This article aims to present a pedagogical proposal for using videos on Radioactivity in Chemistry classes. This means that the subject requires facilitating means, as it is not accessible for conducting experiments and requiring special attention due to its usual negative perception by society. Considering this, a survey was carried out to propose a teaching strategy in which videos are used in context to introduce lessons on Radioactivity. This article aims to describe the proposed strategy, as well as the results found in the trial. At first, aspects of Meaningful Learning and the theoretical foundation of the research are addressed; then, the use of educational videos are discussed. This is followed by a presentation of the pedagogical strategy and a description of the methodological procedures, which included a case study with students from a public high school. Finally, the collected data is analyzed. Results show good understanding of the applications of radioactivity, and a positive assessment of the proposed strategy, indicating that videos can be important resources for the teaching and learning process of that topic.Downloads
